Wax Content Testing Methods

Visual Observation Method:

1. For the same weight, the larger the volume and the fuller the packaging, the higher the wax content.

2. Take cups of equal volume, fill them with granules, and weigh them. The lighter sample has a higher wax content.

   • Wax has a high density and light texture, while calcium powder has a lower density but heavier texture.

Burning Method:

1. Place 100 grams of granule lubricant into an iron container.

2. Use a blowtorch to burn thoroughly until the granules fully volatilize into white calcium powder.

3. Weigh the remaining white calcium powder.

4. For example, if 100 grams of granules yield 45 grams of white calcium powder, it means 55 grams of wax have volatilized, indicating a wax content of 55%.

Advantages of Using Lubricant Granules

1. High effective content: Wax content above 50% can effectively improve lubrication and reduce negative effects caused by friction.

2. Reduces the occurrence of air holes in castings, extends the lifespan of the piston cylinder, and minimizes adverse effects caused by friction.

3. Granules are completely consumed during casting, leaving no lubricant oil contamination.

4. Keeps the workshop, ceiling, and floor clean, meeting modern green and environmental protection requirements.
